Competence funds
If you want to strengthen your IT skills, there are good opportunities to apply for grants from competence funds. That way, you can attend a course with a large share of the costs covered for you and your employer.
Get funding for your continuing education
At SuperUsers, we welcome you to IT continuing education with strong expertise and hands-on learning in unique surroundings. There is room for intensive learning as well as relaxed networking.
Depending on where you work and which collective agreement covers you, you can apply for funding from different competence funds. Most competence funds are part of the collective agreements between employers and unions, and there are funds for both public-sector and private-sector employees.
Contact your manager, union representative or HR department to find out what you are entitled to, or check your employment contract.
If you work in the public sector, look into your options for applying for funding for your next IT course or certification program from these three funds:
- The State Competence Fund (Den Statslige Kompetencefond)
- The Regional Competence Fund (Den Regionale Kompetencefond)
- The Municipal Competence Fund (Den Kommunale Kompetencefond)
If you work in the private sector, we recommend that you check whether you can apply to:
- IKUF
- The competence funds for DI, HK Privat and HK Handel
- The Finance Competence Pool (Finanskompetencepuljen)
- PensionDanmark's education funds (PensionDanmarks Uddannelsesfonde)
-
Forsikringsforbundet

The State Competence Fund (Den Statslige Kompetencefond)
When you apply, we recommend that you follow these five steps
- Check that you are covered by a joint collective agreement
- Find your next course here on the website or contact us
- Get the price, dates and a link to the course – we're happy to hand you all of it on a silver platter
- Agree on the course with your manager
- Fill in the application form and get ready to apply
You can find a guide to these steps directly from the State Competence Fund (Den Statslige Kompetencefond) here.
Who can get a grant?
You can apply to the State Competence Fund if you are employed by the state and covered by the joint collective agreements between the Ministry of Taxation and Centralorganisationernes Fællesudvalg (CFU), or between the Ministry of Taxation and Akademikerne. You can also apply if you are employed by the state as a civil servant or on terms similar to those of a civil servant.
If you are unsure which collective agreement you are employed under, check your employment contract. It will usually state which central organization or organization entitled to negotiate has entered into the agreement you are employed under.
You can also ask your manager, union representative or HR department.
The competence fund is divided into five pools
Below you will find an overview of the five pools and the type of grant each of them offers. It is possible to submit a group application if several people need the same course or certification.

The five pools of the State Competence Fund (Den Statslige Kompetencefond)
Akademikerne
This fund pool is for you if you are covered by the joint collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and Akademikerne or other separate government collective agreements for university graduates.
You can get a grant of DKK 5,000 per course day for courses without ECTS credits, up to a maximum of DKK 25,000 in total. This means university graduates can apply for funding for all IT programs at SuperUsers that last more than 3 days.
NOTE: If you want to sign up for IT courses that last 3 days or less, contact us for information, as these can be extended to meet the fund's requirements.
Each applicant can receive up to DKK 100,000 per calendar year and a maximum of DKK 150,000 over the entire collective agreement period.
If you are a member of one of these unions, you are covered by Akademikerne.
Centralorganisationen af 2010 – CO10
The CO10 fund pool is for you if you are covered by a CO10 collective agreement under the CFU joint agreement.
As a general rule, you can apply for funding of up to DKK 30.000 per year. The positive list for this pool covers individual, supplementary activities and courses that focus on digitalization and IT. This means you can apply for funding for all SuperUsers IT courses and certifications.
If you are a member of one of these unions, you are covered by the CO10 fund pool.
Lærernes Centralorganisation – LC
The LC fund pool is for you if you are covered by an LC collective agreement under the CFU joint collective agreement.
As a general rule, you can apply for support of up to DKK 25.000 per year.
Support can be granted for competence development activities that are not on the positive list if the activity otherwise meets the conditions for support and the parties to the collective agreement give it priority. This means you can apply for IT courses and certifications at SuperUsers; we have a good track record of getting our courses approved.
If you are a member of one of these unions, you are covered by the LC fund pool.
Offentligt Ansattes Organisationer – OAO HK Stat
The OAO HK Stat fund pool is for you if you are covered by an HK Stat collective agreement under the CFU joint collective agreement.
As a rule, you can apply for support of up to DKK 25.000 per year.
IT upskilling is on this fund's positive list, as it supports individual, supplementary activities and courses that focus on digitalization and IT. This means you can apply for funding for pre-approved IT courses and certifications at SuperUsers.
Offentligt Ansattes Organisationer – OAO Øvrige
The OAO Øvrige fund pool is for you if you are covered by an OAO agreement under the CFU collective agreement – with the exception of HK Stat, which has its own fund pool.
As a rule, you can apply for support of up to DKK 25.000 per year. IT upskilling is on the positive list for this fund, as it supports individual, supplementary activities and courses focused on digitalization and IT. This means you can apply for funding for IT courses and certifications at SuperUsers.
If you are a member of one of these unions, you fall under the OAO HK Stat fund pool.
