Do you want to get certified as an Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer and build AI applications and agents in Microsoft Foundry? This certification bundle is for developers and AI engineers who work with generative AI, RAG, agent orchestration and responsible AI on Azure.
The certification shows that you can plan, build, deploy and operate AI solutions and agents on Azure with Microsoft Foundry as the platform. It covers the full Azure AI engineer role: choosing models and services, implementing generative and agentic solutions, computer vision, text and speech analysis, and information extraction from documents. The certification is the successor to Azure AI Engineer Associate. It reflects a shift in focus from prebuilt AI services to generative AI, retrieval and agents that can take action.
You start by building a shared foundation for AI on Azure with the course Introduction to AI in Azure. You learn to recognize typical AI workloads, understand the principles of responsible AI, and work with the Foundry portal, the model catalog and the basic building blocks of an AI solution. This gives you the concepts and the big picture before you start coding.
Next, we build on that foundation with Develop AI Apps and Agents on Azure, where you work hands-on with Python and the Foundry SDKs. You deploy and consume language models, implement RAG with semantic, hybrid and vector search, and build agents with function calling, tool integration and conversation memory, including orchestrated multi-agent solutions. You also work with multimodal scenarios such as image and video generation, Content Understanding and document extraction. You also learn to set up guardrails, safety filters, evaluation and tracing so the solution can run responsibly in production.
You will be able to:
- Choose the right models and Foundry services for a given AI task
- Configure model and agent deployments and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation with semantic, hybrid and vector search
- Build agents with function calling, tools, knowledge sources and memory
- Orchestrate multi-agent solutions with approval flows and built-in safeguards
- Work with multimodal solutions across image, video, text and speech
- Extract structured content from documents with OCR, layout analysis and Content Understanding
- Set up safety filters, evaluators, tracing and monitoring around the solution
The bundle is a good fit for developers, AI engineers and integration developers who need to build AI functionality into their company's applications. It also suits those who have previously worked as an Azure AI Engineer and want to update their profile to match Microsoft's new certification structure. Python experience is a clear advantage.

It's calm and quiet at SuperUsers' country venue. Good atmosphere and catering. Some thought has gone into healthy eating when it comes to food and cake, so it doesn't get completely out of hand.
