Databricks Data Engineer

This exam validates that you have mastered the core elements of the Databricks platform and can work as a Data Engineer in a modern Lakehouse environment. You are tested on the building blocks a data engineer relies on every day: Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Spark, ingestion patterns and workflows. Passing the exam gives you documented proof of the knowledge you gained in the course, so you can show employers or clients that you can take responsibility for building and running data pipelines in Databricks.

Exam focus areas:

• The Databricks platform: workspaces, clusters, notebooks and supported languages
• Unity Catalog and governance: 3-level namespace, permissions and secure access to data and secrets
• Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture: ACID transactions, transaction log and data layout optimization
• Spark DataFrames and PySpark: transformations, schema handling and working with structured columns
• Data ingestion and workflows: COPY INTO, managed connectors, jobs, structured streaming and Spark Declarative Pipelines
