GitHub Foundations

GH-900 is Microsoft and GitHub's official entry-level certification for GitHub as a platform. The exam tests your grasp of Git and version control, repository management, collaboration through issues and pull requests, project management, modern development practices with GitHub Actions, Copilot, and Codespaces, as well as privacy, security, and administration. It is aimed at developers, non-developers, and other GitHub users who want to strengthen their knowledge of the platform's core features, and it assumes a foundation in Git, repositories, collaboration tools, and project management. Passing the exam gives you recognized proof that you can work independently in GitHub and be part of a team without relying on colleagues who know the platform. It is also a natural first step if you later want to move on to the more specialized GitHub certifications in Copilot, Actions, or administration.
