AB-400 is Microsoft's exam for Power Platform developers who design, develop, test, and troubleshoot solution components using the platform's extension points and generative AI. You are tested on how to build solutions across Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate, from architecture choices, security, and where to place business logic to plug-ins, custom APIs, client scripting, and PCF components. The exam also covers integrations with external systems through events, data synchronization, and custom connectors, as well as the use of agentic AI as part of the solution logic. It is aimed at developers with hands-on experience in C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Power Fx, as well as knowledge of Azure, Microsoft Foundry, and Copilot Studio. Passing AB-400 earns you the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate certification.
