Description
Visual data makes up a large share of the information companies work with, but images, scans and videos often sit unread and unused. With multimodal AI models and Azure's vision services, you can automate the extraction of text, structure and meaning from visual sources and build solutions that reason across text and images.
In this course, you work with the full range of Azure's vision and Content Understanding services in Microsoft Foundry. You start by deploying vision-enabled generative AI models and building chat apps that can answer prompts based on images. Then you work with generative image creation and video generation with Sora 2, so you understand both the analysis and production sides of multimodal AI.
A central part of the course covers Azure Content Understanding, where you learn to analyze images, build multimodal analysis solutions and call the Content Understanding API from your own client applications. You also work with Azure Document Intelligence, where OCR and deep learning models are used to extract text, key-value pairs and tables from forms and documents, using both prebuilt and custom models.
Finally, you build a knowledge mining solution with Azure AI Search that enriches and indexes content from different sources and makes it searchable. The course alternates between instructor-led walkthroughs and hands-on labs in Microsoft Foundry, so you work directly with the SDKs and services you will encounter in a real development project.
After the course, you can:

- Generate images and video from natural language prompts, including with Sora 2
- Analyze images and multimodal content with Azure Content Understanding

The course is aimed at developers, AI engineers and technical specialists who want to build applications around images and documents using multimodal, agent-based approaches. It requires basic programming experience and a general understanding of cloud and AI concepts.
This course is part of AI-103: Develop AI apps and agents on Azure, which gives you a complete, in-depth overview of the entire AI platform in Azure.
We recommend AI-103 if you want a more structured program where you work with multiple technologies together and build a stronger foundation for building AI solutions on Azure.
