Description
ITIL is one of the most widely used frameworks for IT Service Management. IT organizations around the world use it to structure how digital products and services are planned, delivered and improved. With Version 5, ITIL shifts its focus toward a more product-centric approach under the heading Digital Product & Service Management, centered on value creation, collaboration between business and IT, and the responsible use of AI.
In this Foundation course, you get a firm grasp of the framework's core concepts and how they fit together. You learn the relationship between service, product, value and collaboration. You also learn how the ITIL Product & Service Lifecycle ties these elements together into a single picture of how an organization works from idea to operations and continual improvement.
The course covers the ITIL Value System, the value chain and the key practices. You learn to think in value streams, the connected activities that create value for the customer. You work with the ITIL Guiding Principles, governance and continual improvement, and see how The Four Dimensions of Service Management and integration with other frameworks come into play at Foundation level.
A new element in Version 5 is the increased focus on AI. You gain a basic understanding of how AI and governance affect the way digital products and services are designed and delivered. This prepares you for day-to-day work where automation and AI-supported decisions play a bigger role.
The teaching alternates between theory, short exercises and practice with the exam format itself. That way, you both understand the concepts and are well prepared for the final certification exam.
After the course, you will be able to:

This course is for you if you work with service management, product and service development, operations or support, or are about to, and you want a shared frame of reference and a recognized certification. It is aimed primarily at IT service providers and organizations responsible for digital products and services, but the concepts can be applied across service areas.

We lay the foundation for ITIL (Version 5) with the core concepts and definitions. You get a firm grasp of how service, product, value and collaboration fit together, and how this connects to the ITIL Product & Service Lifecycle. The day wraps up with short exercises to make the concepts stick and a plan for preparing for day 2.

It's calm and quiet at SuperUsers' country venue. Good atmosphere and catering. Some thought has gone into healthy eating when it comes to food and cake, so it doesn't get completely out of hand.
